It’s time for me to register our group for our National Bible Bowl Tournament! Following all the information here, there is a link at the bottom for a google survey which you will need to take by end of the day this Sunday, March 31st. If you saw the email from National Bible Bowl about it – please be sure to read all of this message so you’re clear on what YOU need to do vs. what I will be doing for you. All students and teams are invited and encouraged to attend – it is a culmination of all their efforts for the season!
Travel and Fees Overview
We meet at Southeast at noon on Monday, June 10th and will carpool to Milligan University in Tennessee. We return home Thursday, June 13th around 10pm. Students will be staying with coach and parent chaperones in separate boy and girl dorms, eating, and competing on campus.
Your student’s registration will cover housing (dorms) and meals (except for two meals traveling to and from campus). We are charging $315 for the first student in a family and $300 for each additional player from the same family. This covers the $275 per person fee, the $50 per team fee, and offsets a bit the cost of travel and the cost for our chaperones (National Bible Bowl still charges $275 per adult, but in appreciation of all the hard work and time our coaches put into our teams, I use the donations we receive toward our program at Southeast to help cover their costs so they don’t have to pay for attending). If you are unable to pay the full amount, we’ve got people willing to donate on your behalf.
New Spectator Policy
There is a new spectator policy from National Bible Bowl – if you are attending more than 1 day, you are expected to register ($275 per person) even if you do not plan to stay on campus or eat the meals. Otherwise, you may come and spectate for 1 day without charge. So if you are a non-coach and are planning to register and attend, note that if you stay on campus you’ll either be separated into gender segregated dorms and will therefore need the corresponding volunteer clearance through Southeast because you’ll be with other students – OR, you can request family housing but most likely the only availability for this will be in non-air-conditioned dorms. Your cost will be $275 ($150 will be paid online upfront to National Bible Bowl and the remaining $125 will be paid by check to Southeast for me to pay as one big group upon arrival) and that does include your meals and a t-shirt as well.
What To Do Next
Let me know if you have any questions! More details will follow for driving arrangements, paperwork, etc. Travel details/what to bring can be found under the calendar event. Thank you!
