Nationals - Response Needed by Oct 25th

It’s time for me to register our group for our National Bible Bowl Tournament! You probably saw the email from National Bible Bowl about it – but please be sure to read all of THIS message so you’re clear on what YOU need to do vs. what I will be doing for you as part of the Southeast group. All students and teams are invited and encouraged to attend – it is a culmination of all their efforts for the season!

Travel and Fees Info:

  • We meet at Southeast at 6:30AM on Friday, Dec. 4th and will carpool to Central Bible University in Moberly, MO where our competition is held.

  • The tournament ends on Sunday afternoon Dec. 6th, so we will be returning home late, around 11pm.

  • Students and chaperones will be staying in hotel rooms (2 adults + 2 students of same gender, or a family hotel room).

  • We will stop for lunch Friday and dinner Sunday. All other meals will be on campus or continental breakfast at the hotel.

  • The cost is $250 per player (that's a $175 player registration fee plus a portion of the hotel fee plus a portion of each team fee). If you are unable to pay the full amount for your student(s) or need to spread out payment, just reach out to me and we’ll work it out.

  • The cost for adults is $185 (that's a $120 adult registration fee plus a portion of the hotel fee). As a "thank you" to our coaches and weekly chaperones, we use our budget at Southeast to cover their cost since they give up so much time and effort to lead these students. Here are some additional options directly from National Bible Bowl - but please note if you're staying with us in the hotel then there will be an added $65 per person to these amounts. ALL spectators are expected to register.

    • Minor spectator (with food): $100 ($75 deposit due now, the remaining $25 at event check-in)

    • Adult spectator attend only: $40 (due now; no food or event sweatshirt and no admittance to cafeteria)

    • Minor spectator attend only: $20 (due now; no food or event sweatshirt and no admittance to cafeteria)

    • Adult Day pass: $20 per day (due at event check-in; cannot register for this option online; must email office@biblebowl.org to register for this option and receive instructions)

    • Minor Day pass: $10 per day (due at event check-in; cannot register for this option online; must email office@biblebowl.org to register for this option and receive instructions)

  • All adults either driving or rooming with students other than their own student must be an approved volunteer through Southeast. If you aren't already, let me know and we'll get that process started - you provide references and take an online training that takes about an hour.

Registration Info:

  • Players and coaches – I will register all students and coaches/regular weekly helpers who are attending (I will confirm this with you). So let me know ASAP your status so I can get all my ducks in a row!

  • Spectators – if you are a non-coach parent or minor attending, you will register yourself by Oct. 29th by 5PM.

  • How to register as a spectator by Oct. 29th 5PM deadline:

    • If you are a parent of a player, register yourself (and your spouse if he or she is coming) on your Bible Bowl account.

    • If you are a spectator without an account, register yourself using this link for other spectators.

    • If your student’s Bible Bowl account is under a different parent name than yours (e.g., Mom’s on the account, but Dad is the only one attending) – please use the link for other spectators.

Here is the response and action I need from you by Sunday, October 25th (please email me at megankuhl@gmail.com):

  • Is your student attending – yes or no? If yes:

    • Be sure to log in to your Bible Bowl account and double check his or her t-shirt size (this will be used for the event sweatshirt).

    • Let me know if he or she wants to participate in the Quote Bee at Nationals.

  • Are you or others in your family attending? If yes:

    • Who all is going?

    • Are you willing to drive additional students (and how many)?

    • Are you willing to be a quizmaster if needed (only answer yes if you have experience quizzing)?

Please send check made out to Southeast to practice on October 26th. You can pay all together on one check if there are multiple people to pay for. A reminder of the amounts (I will confirm amounts with you specifically also upon your email response):

  • $250 for each student

  • Non-coach adult spectators who register themselves and possibly minors will pay the "due now" portion directly online, but the "due at check-in" portion needs to be added to your Southeast check since I will write one check for the entire remaining balance of everyone associated with our group. Also the $65 per person hotel fee will need to be included if you are staying with us. So short of listing all those amounts of so many possible options - I will confirm those amounts via email once you tell me all your plans. :)

  • Weekly coaches and helpers – no payment. Thank you for all you do!
